Hearn Confident – Serhii Bohachuk Is a Stylistic Match for Ishmael Davis

British promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing commented on his fighter Ishmael Davis (13-1, 6 KOs), who will face Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk (24-2, 23 KOs) on the undercard of the Usyk-Fury 2 event.

Bohachuk is a different level of opposition. Sure, Josh Kelly is a good fighter, but it’s a different style. Kelly’s style wasn’t quite right for Ishmael Davis. Bohachuk’s style, on the other hand, is practically made for Davis.

The way I see it: First, this is money you can’t turn down. Second, the opponent is stylistically favorable. Third, Davis is a quality fighter. On your night, you can compete with anyone. Fourth, if you stun Bohachuk, you become the mandatory challenger to face Sebastian Fundora, and you’ll command a seven-figure purse. So let’s do it.

This isn’t about courage; it’s about intelligence and strategy. We’re not just throwing an English champion out there on the world stage. Ishmael has the potential, and I believe he’s already at British and European level. He’s got the ability and the potential to become a world-class fighter. Imagine if he pulls it off.

Bohachuk comes straight at you, no regrets. He’s a very good fighter, but I can’t wait for this fight,” Hearn said.

Bohachuk landed Davis as a last-minute opponent because Israil Madrimov fell ill and could not prepare for the scheduled bout.
