Eddie Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing, shared insights on what Edgar Berlanga (21-0, 16 KOs) needs to accomplish in his upcoming fight against Irishman Padraig McCrory (18-0, 9 KOs) to potentially face Canelo or Munguia in the future.
"Everyone who knows McCrory tells me he has a huge chance of winning. He's a great puncher and has big balls. The fight is called 'The Shootout', and it's going to live up to its name.
Berlanga is also a great puncher. These two will meet in the middle of the ring. I think this battle will be spectacular. Many predict McCrory to win, and his life will change if he does.
We've had one fight with Berlanga, the fight against Quigley. He's a big star. He looks great, sells a lot of tickets, and has a huge following in Puerto Rico and the USA.
He needs to shine on Saturday to call out Canelo, Munguia, and others. I think he's been working hard to show a great performance," Hearn said.
McCrory and Berlanga are set to meet on February 25 in Orlando, USA.
