Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn commented on the upcoming rematch between Josh Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs) and Jack Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs).
«People were concerned about how Josh Taylor would look at junior welterweight. Don’t forget, he requested the fight at the division limit – we expected it to be at a catchweight. But he looked great at the weigh-in – as we expected.
Both guys are in their prime to give us a great night of boxing. We got a small sample of the atmosphere at the weigh-in. Wait until there are 11,000 people in the arena. It will be wild; I think we’ll see a grand, all-British showdown,» said Hearn.
The fight between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall will take place on May 25 in Leeds, UK.
In their first bout, Taylor defeated Catterall by split decision. This was Josh’s first and only defense of his undisputed world champion status – he subsequently lost 3 of the 4 titles, and the last remaining WBO belt he lost to Teofimo Lopez.
