Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn is thrilled about the potential unification fight between Isaac Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs) and Subriel Matias (20-1, 20 KOs) and is willing to negotiate with broadcasters and competitors.
"This fight is very good. First of all - Matias needs to beat Liam Paro, he's a really good fighter, and I feel a bit sorry for Liam because everyone's talking about Subriel. Liam can fight.
If Matias wins, then a fight between Subriel Matias and Isaac Cruz is an absolute thriller. Mexico vs. Puerto Rico.
I can easily go to Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and tell them, although I don’t even know if they've signed Cruz, I assume he's with them. I’d say: 'Let's do a co-promotion. On Amazon Prime and DAZN.'
It won’t be a massive fight, but it will draw a good audience. We'd share the pay-per-view revenue with the boxers, that's what I mean. But I don’t think they're inclined to do it. However, if it happens – it's a big fight for unification. Mexico vs. Puerto Rico and such a great matchup," said Hearn.
Isaac Cruz is the new WBA lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) champion after defeating Rolando Romero. Subriel Matias, the IBF champion of the same category, will meet Liam Paro on June 15.
