Hearn Hopes for No Usyk vs. Fury Rematch

Eddie Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing and promoter of Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs), discussed the possibility of his client facing Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) if Fury wins against Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).

"We'll just plan in the next few weeks what we're going to do. In my opinion, the decision will not be made before the Fury – Usyk fight because I still firmly believe that if Tyson wins this fight, Turki Al-Sheikh will do everything possible, despite the agreement for two fights, to make the biggest fight in sports history – Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury.

There are a lot of opportunities for AJ, but I think it's unlikely we'll make a final decision until we see the winner on May 18th," Hearn told the Matchroom Boxing YouTube channel.

Mauricio Sulaiman recently confirmed that the WBC would sanction the fight between Anthony Joshua and the winner of Fury vs. Usyk.

The bout for the absolute heavyweight world championship (over 90.7 kg) between WBC titleholder Tyson Fury and WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
