Hearn Finds Ideal Opponent for Teofimo

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has found the perfect opponent for WBO junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs). Hearn believes that Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs), after his victory over Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KOs), should face the champion.

"Of course, people are talking about a trilogy with Taylor. As for me, I will always look towards big fights.

He should have been the undisputed champion after the first fight with Taylor, so now we need to try to position him as a title contender.

In a couple of weeks, there will be a fight between Subriel Matias and Liam Paro, followed by a fight between Devin Haney and Sandor Martin.

Teofimo Lopez is fighting Steve Claggett, and with no disrespect to Steve, it's a shame. It's a ridiculous fight for someone who claims to be the best in his division.

Jack Catterall is the guy who should fight Teofimo Lopez. If I have my way, it will be a title fight against Teofimo," said Hearn.

Earlier, Lopez stated that he would never cooperate with Hearn and the DAZN platform, which broadcasts Catterall's fights.
