Hearn Responds to Joshua vs. Jake Paul Talk for the First Time

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn has weighed in on the growing speculation surrounding a potential showdown between Anthony Joshua and YouTuber-turned-heavyweight boxer Jake Paul.

“That’s how boxing works—when you’re the biggest name in the heavyweight division, like Anthony Joshua is right now, you can fight whoever you want, whenever you want.

Right now, with Tyson Fury essentially retired, AJ is the most commercially attractive fighter in the division.

Jake Paul isn’t a serious opponent for Canelo Alvarez, yet they signed a deal.

Joshua is a two-time heavyweight world champion, and he’s still the biggest star in the division. That gives him the right to choose his opponents as he sees fit.

I don’t think his next fight will be for a world title. I won’t say too much right now—but get ready.”

Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in the fall of 2024. Meanwhile, Jake Paul recently called him out, declaring he would “beat his ass,” fueling the media buzz.
