Former world champion, Briton Ricky Hatton, commented on the fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship (over 90.7 kg) between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).
«Honestly, I think it was a fair result. Sometimes you can interpret the scoring depending on whether you like boxing on the back foot. Here, Tyson did a very good job. In boxing, it’s always a question of what you prefer – pressure or the guy fighting on the back foot.
I think it was a wonderful fight. What a round with the knockdown! How did Tyson stay on his feet? He probably bounced off every corner. Yes, I think the best guy won, but Tyson made us proud again,» said Hatton.
The fight between Usyk and Fury lasted all 12 rounds and ended with a split decision victory for the Ukrainian. Oleksandr Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in a rematch.
