WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) claims that former five-division world champion American Floyd Mayweather has long wanted him to lose.
"Floyd's hated me for a long time. It didn't start just now. I've kept my mouth shut for years out of respect for the greats in this sport. But the guy is a real hater, not wanting anyone to win if he's not a part of it.
I know it was him who sent Ryan the sparring video. I know it was him who gave Ryan those 'pimp' comments for the press conference. The miserable old man first tried to sabotage the fight. Alhamdulillah, I'm happy that he's shown his true colors to the world," Haney tweeted.
Recall, at one of the press conferences before the fight against Ryan Garcia, Haney's upcoming opponent called his father a "pimp." Then, he posted a one-and-a-half-minute sparring video of Haney and Davis, showing Gervonta dominating.
The Haney vs. Garcia fight is scheduled for April 20 in New York.
