Haney Remains WBC Champion

On April 21st at the Barclays Center in New York, USA, Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) won by majority decision against the WBC super lightweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs).

Mauricio Sulaiman, President of WBC and advisor at Ready To Fight, commented on Garcia's victory and confirmed that the title remains with Haney.

"We congratulate Ryan Garcia, who overcame all obstacles and won a huge fight. We also congratulate Devin Haney for showing his great heart and class.

Just like in Corrales – Castillo 2, where the challenger didn't make the weight, Haney remains the WBC champion," wrote Sulaiman.

As a reminder, Garcia did not meet the weight requirements and was ineligible for the title. The WBC belt remains with Devin Haney.
