Haney's Lawyer Sends Letter Demanding Garcia's Disqualification

Pat English, the lawyer of WBC super lightweight champion (up to 63,5 kg) Devin Haney, has sent a letter to the New York Commission requesting the disqualification of his client's former opponent, Ryan Garcia.

The lawyer's arguments included the following points:

- Ryan Garcia's use of banned performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs);

- Use of prohibited intravenous infusions;

- The use of excessive weight was a tactic for gaining an unfair advantage.

Recall, Garcia was the first to defeat Haney in the professional ring. At the final weigh-in, Ryan was 1.5 kg over the super lightweight limit. After the fight, banned substances were found in the winner's system. Additional analysis of these will be conducted at the end of May.
