Haney: "I Know Ryan's an Alcoholic"

WBC lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) champion, American Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs), has candidly expressed his thoughts about his next opponent, claiming that Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) struggles with alcohol, and this is the server of all his public statements.

"I don't understand what tactic Ryan is using, trying to distract people from the fight. I've never seen anything like this crap. He should stick to talking about the fight.

He speaks on matters he barely understands. I know he's an alcoholic. He drinks. And then, when he gets drunk, he starts posting all this nonsense.

Whatever Ryan sees, it won't change what I'm going to do to him. He's going to come and execute his plan for the fight, whatever it may be. He can play all he wants, but it won't stop me from preparing and showing my best," said Haney.

The Haney-Garcia fight is scheduled for April 20th in New York, USA. Previously, concerns about Ryan's mental readiness were raised by boxers, officials, and even WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman. Nonetheless, Garcia's promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, asserts that his boxer is completely fine.
