Haney vs. Garcia: Weight Division and Will There Be a Rehydration Clause

Citing the words of Devin Haney's (31-0, 15 KO) father and trainer Bill Haney, insider Michael Benson reveals details of the showdown against Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KO).

The fighters will not have a clause in the contract regarding hydration testing. Additionally, the bout will take place in the lightweight division - up to 63.5 kg. The WBC title, held by Haney, will be on the line.

Recall that Ryan Garcia's last fight against Oscar Duarte took place in the interim weight division. In that fight, Ryan won by stoppage. And in the contract for Garcia's fight against Gervonta Davis, there was a clause requiring both boxers to undergo hydration testing, and weight limits were set, which were checked on the day of the fight. Ryan lost that bout by stoppage.

The Haney-Garcia bout is scheduled for April 20th in Las Vegas.
