WBC super lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) world champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) discussed why his fight against Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) is more commercially viable compared to the Canelo vs. Munguia bout.
- What do you think about Eddie Hearn saying that Canelo vs. Munguia will sell more because it's a Mexican war?
- Honestly, I haven't heard Eddie say that, but that's his opinion. He's entitled to say what he wants. I think my fight against Ryan is much bigger. If you ask anyone on the street, no disrespect, but if you ask who Jaime Munguia is – nobody will know.
And I don't want to say it's a bad fight. It's a great fight. I think it's going to be a war.
Haney and Garcia will meet on April 20th in New York. Alvarez and Munguia are set to fight in Las Vegas on May 4th.
