Heini makes his debut in a new weight class. Key facts about the fight against Prograis.

On the night of December 9th to 10th, former undisputed lightweight world champion Devin Haney will debut in the super lightweight division (up to 63.5 kg). His opponent will be the current WBC champion, Regis Prograis. Here's everything you need to know about the showdown.

Last three fights: technical knockout victory in the 6th round over Tyrone McKenna, knockout victory in the 11th round over Jose Zapata, and a split decision win over Danielito Zorrilla.

Devin Haney stated that if he has a successful debut in the super lightweight division, he plans to move up to the welterweight category for a title fight. Currently, Jaron Ennis and Terence Crawford hold the belts in that division.

In 2022, Regis Prograis predicted that the super lightweight division would become highly competitive within a year. As a result, in 2023, three top lightweights made their mark in this category: Teofimo Lopez became the champion, Ryan Garcia debuted with a knockout victory, and Devin Haney became his opponent.

Prograis himself says he will box in this weight class until the end of his career and "wants to be the Marvin Hagler of the super lightweight division."
