Gvozdyk on Fight Delay and Manager Change: "A Very Painful Issue"

Former world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk has opened up about the postponement of his comeback fight and the potential change of his manager, describing the situation as very frustrating.

"The matter of my next fight is a very painful one because my fight has been canceled for the second time in a row. I will meet with my coach to figure things out and move forward.

I was supposed to fight on February 1 as part of the Morrell-Benavidez undercard, but it looks like that won’t happen. Officially, we haven’t been told anything, but with the event so close, it’s clear it won’t go ahead," Gvozdyk said.

The Ukrainian boxer also mentioned the possibility of a new manager in the near future.

"I currently don’t have a promoter. My last four fights were organized by PBC, but I didn’t have a contract with them. We signed individual agreements for each fight, so nothing binds me to them.

I’m a free agent. On top of that, I might have a new manager soon, but I’m not ready to reveal their name just yet.

As for Bob Arum, we worked together in the past, but I don’t have the desire to return there. Speaking of good promoters, I did get an offer from Main Events. Still, I haven’t received any truly appealing proposals; otherwise, I would have accepted one by now," Gvozdyk shared.

In his last fight, the former champion faced David Benavidez and lost via unanimous decision.
