Gvozdyk: "Fury Should Vacate the Title"

Ukrainian light heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight for the undisputed world heavyweight championship between titleholders Oleksandr Usyk (WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, 21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).

"Honestly, I don’t want to speculate. I just hope the fight finally happens and doesn’t fall through again. They’ve surely marinated it enough by now. If that was the intent, enough is enough to avoid overdoing it. It really should happen now if that’s the case.

If Fury is doing this because he feels unprepared, then, as Usyk says, he should indeed vacate the title, and let Usyk fight someone like Filip Hrgovic or Joseph Parker instead," said Gvozdyk.

The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
