Former WBC light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs) has called out WBO interim light heavyweight champion Callum Smith (31-2, 22 KOs) for a fight.
During an interview, Gvozdyk made his intentions clear:
– If you could fight anyone, who would it be? Bivol?
– Callum Smith.
– What happens in that fight?
– I become world champion.
– If Callum watches this, what’s your message to him?
– Callum, you're a great fighter. Let’s make this fight happen and see who’s better. I respect you, but this is business, Gvozdyk stated.
In his last fight, Smith outboxed Joshua Buatsi, while Gvozdyk suffered a defeat to David Benavidez.
