Gvozdyk announced his return to the ring

Former light heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (17-1, 14 KOs) announced his possible fight in January.

“I'm coming back, I confirm it. In my case, unfortunately, I can't do it like that... I would like to do it the way Ivan Redkach does it. But I can't do that. So I'm working on it. I am preparing for January now, there are still options in March."

"But I didn't sign the contract. These dates have already been postponed three times. Now I am preparing for January. The opposition will not be championship, top. There will be some opposition to come back. The opposition will be one that I have to go through easily in order to get back the feelings that I should have in the ring."

"Then maybe something more serious will happen in March. But I repeat, I do not want to encourage anyone that it will be 100%. Because I was already given three dates and all three failed. So when I sign the contract, the first thing I will do is put up a post with a poster for my comeback fight. But now it's a teaser, call it what you want. Yes, I am preparing, I am constantly training. But it is quite difficult to find an opponent and a team to work with."

"Is the opponent known? Not yet for you. There are options for me. I don't want to overestimate myself, but if it will be him, then I could describe the opponent in three words - we have what we have."

Гвоздик анонсував своє повернення в ринг

Gvozdyk previously talked about future plans to resume performances in November.

In 2018, Gvozdyk became the world champion, defeating Adonis Stevenson. After that, Oleksandr held one successful title defense.

The Ukrainian fought his last fight in the fall of 2019, losing to Artur Beterbiev by technical knockout in the tenth round. In 2020, Oleksandr ended his career.
