Gvozdyk on Sparring Partner: "There Are Several Names"

In an interview with vRINGe, former light heavyweight world champion (up to 79,4 kg) Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) discussed who he would invite as a sparring partner to prepare for a fight against David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs).

"We haven't thought about it yet, but there are already several names in mind. I've sparred with Tsotne Rogava before. He's big, he's always pressing. I believe that's exactly what Benavidez will do. So, I will ask Tsotne if he can help me. Even just for a few rounds. I think when we spar, we both, so to say, benefit from the process.

There's another guy I've sparred with. I have a couple of names in mind, but it's still too early to think about that. The fight is still four months away. Right now, I'm running, working on strength, functional training. So, a bit less boxing at the moment. Because there will be a lot of it coming up, starting in about a month," said Gvozdyk.

Oleksandr Gvozdyk will face American David Benavidez for the WBC "interim" light heavyweight championship this summer.
