Gvozdyk commented on the situation with his return to the ring

Ex-world champion in light heavyweight Oleksandr Gvozdyk commented on the situation with his return to the ring. The Ukrainian emphasized that he hopes to resume his career in November.

"I train 1-2 times a day, now sparring with Ramirez, but to say that I am doing a full-fledged camp - no, because there is no date or opponent yet. Therefore, there is no point in starting it yet."

"At first I hoped to hold the fight at the end of October. In principle, it is still possible, but from my experience, I no longer believe in it."

"Let's hope for November. The opponent is also unclear, I would like to hold a comeback fight to understand where I am in relation to my condition, as well as to understand whether this idea is good in general, because I always try to be realistic."

"I don't have a contract with promoters, now I'm a free agent, I'm looking for other opportunities. Motivation to return to the ring? I will surprise everyone again with my difference from others: money comes first, but deep enough in my head I have the idea that I can still do something in boxing... I used to have a lot of work, but now I have a lot of free time. Why not? If the question was only about money, I would not return."

Gvozdyk became the world champion in 2018, defeating Adonis Stevenson. After that, Oleksandr held one successful title defense.

Gvozdyk ended his career in the summer of 2020. The Ukrainian fought his last fight in the fall of 2019, losing to Artur Beterbiev by technical knockout in the tenth round.
