"This guy is a beast." Hearn on the dialogue with Joshua's coach
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, discussed the preparation of his client for the fight against Otto Wallin:
"I hadn't heard much about what was learned after the camp regarding how Joshua looks and what happened during sparring. Anthony's coach, Ben Davison, sat down next to me and said, 'Jesus! This guy is a beast.'
Joshua is not the kind of boxer you can just pat on the back and say, 'Come on, buddy, go out there and do your thing.' He needs to understand the game plan for the fight. Ben Davison and Lee Wiley are experts in developing fight plans; they know how to select and explain it to the boxer.
He has to execute it in the ring, but when you spar like that and cause people so much pain – we haven't seen that in the last three, four, or five fights. I feel like he was looking for this connection, and I think he found it," said Hearn.
