Former middleweight champion (up to 72.5 kg) Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) has stated that he may return to the ring.
"I have not retired. I never announced my retirement, and it is not in my character to do so in such a manner. For me, life is about moments. If an opportunity arises or something happens – yes, we could see Gennady Golovkin back in the ring," Golovkin told Mayan Tiger Sports Journalist.
Gennady Golovkin has not fought since September 2022, when he lost by unanimous decision to the undisputed super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs).
