Gervonta: «Turki is Trying to Build a Name for Himself»

WBA lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) has criticized the head of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh, following the latest boxing event on May 18 in Riyadh.

«He paid a bunch of celebrities to come to the show… Threw out fake viewership numbers, etc… He’s trying to build a name for himself in the sport…», Gervonta wrote on Twitter.

Tank later deleted his post.

On May 18, a boxing tournament called Ring of Fire took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the main event being a fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. The event also featured fighters such as Daniel Lapin, Mark Chamberlain, Joe Cordina, Anthony Cacace, Agit Kabayel, Frank Sanchez, Jai Opetaia, Mairis Briedis, and others.
