Gervonta Takes the Throne: Crowned Full WBA Lightweight Champion!

The WBA has officially declared Gervonta Davis to be the undisputed king of their World Lightweight Championship.

Before this, Devin Haney, the former reigning lightweight champ, wore the WBA super champion belt, while Gervonta sported the WBA regular champion title. But with Haney's leap to bantamweight and clinching the WBA title there, the prestigious super champion spot was up for grabs.

The WBA has now confirmed that Gervonta steps into the full-fledged Association champion role. Interestingly, Davis had earlier expressed he wasn't eyeing the full champion status.
