WBA lightweight champion (61.2 kg) Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) revealed that his multi-fight contract surpasses the contract his former promoter Floyd Mayweather signed with Showtime.
"I'm at the stage where I've surpassed Floyd and I'm doing it at a younger age than he did. When Mayweather was 29, he wasn't like me.
My contract for 6-7 fights is bigger than his 6-fight deal with Showtime back in 2013," Davis told Cigar Talk.
In 2013, Floyd signed an agreement with Showtime Boxing. Mayweather fought six bouts, earning a guaranteed $200 million. Gervonta Davis's fights are now broadcast on Amazon Prime, which became the new broadcaster for Premier Boxing Champions after Showtime announced they were ending sports broadcasts.
Earlier, Gervonta, when asked about his desired opponents, mentioned Floyd Mayweather's name.
