WBA champion Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) has targeted young prospect Carmel Moton (3-0, 2 KOs) on Twitter, a move that stems from an ongoing conflict with their mutual promoter, Floyd Mayweather. The spat began when Davis retweeted a video featuring Mayweather and claimed that Mayweather was not allowed to leave the UAE due to debts. Mayweather retorted by calling the WBA champion a derogatory term.
During this heated exchange, where Floyd and Gervonta were mocking each other online, Moton posted a photo with Mayweather captioned, "The best team in boxing."
Gervonta responded sharply:
"Your ass won't be on the card on June 15," Davis tweeted.
On June 15, Gervonta is set to face Frank Martin, with additional bouts including Gvozdyk and Benavidez featured on the card.
