Gervonta Explains Why the Fight with Shakur Stevenson Didn't Happen

WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis shared his thoughts during a press conference for his upcoming bout, addressing why a fight with WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has not materialized.

"For what? What has Shakur done? What has he achieved in the sport? Nothing.

Keyshawn Davis looks much better than him. But even Keyshawn hasn’t done anything.

Am I afraid? Afraid of what? For us fighters to fear someone, it must be someone who can hit us and hurt us. Shakur has no offense, just defense. Defense wins games in basketball and football. That s*** doesn’t win fights in boxing," stated Gervonta.

Gervonta Davis’s next fight is set for December 14 in Houston, Texas, against Lamont Roach.
