Davis-Roach Scorecards: Challenger Came Close to a Shocking Upset

On March 1, Barclays Center in New York hosted a boxing event headlined by the WBA lightweight (61.2 kg) title fight between Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) and Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs).

After twelve rounds, the judges delivered a majority draw: 115-113 (Davis), 114-114, 114-114 – leaving no clear winner.

In the first half of the fight, two of the judges scored five of the first six rounds in favor of Davis, putting Roach in a deep hole on the scorecards.

However, as the fight progressed, Roach turned the tide, winning five, four, and three rounds in the latter half of the bout according to the three judges. Despite his late surge, it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit, resulting in a draw.
