"Show Me Where He Said That" – Gervonta Davis Fires Back at Fake Inoue Claims

WBA lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) addressed a supposed comment attributed to Naoya Inoue (28-0, 25 KOs), the undisputed champion at super bantamweight (122 lbs), during a recent interview.

The journalist claimed Inoue had said that Tank's only real asset is his power.

— Naoya Inoue said you don’t have anything that could give him serious trouble except for your power.

He said that?! I don’t want to overreact. You’re trying to set me up. Show me where he actually said that. They’re trying to stir the pot between us, because there’s no way he said that, Davis responded.

Inoue later clarified on his social media that the comments attributed to him were false.

"I never said anything like that," the Japanese star replied.

Naoya Inoue is set to defend his titles on December 24 against undefeated Sam Goodman (19-0, 8 KOs). Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis will face Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) on March 1.
