Gervonta Davis Arrested in Florida

American WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) has been arrested in Florida, USA.

The 30-year-old was taken into custody at 03:35 on Friday, 11 July, on a domestic-violence charge. Bail has not yet been set.

A rematch against Lamont Roach is scheduled for 16 August.

In December 2022 Davis was arrested on a similar charge; his girlfriend later withdrew her complaint, saying Davis had not physically harmed her.

In May 2023 the boxer was detained in Maryland for violating probation stemming from a 2020 hit-and-run. He eventually pleaded guilty, avoiding jail time but receiving probation and house arrest.
