George Kambosos, the former undisputed lightweight champion, has expressed his aspiration to compete against former champion Vasyl Lomachenko. Plans for this match had been previously conceived, but the two were unable to meet in the ring.
"We were supposed to fight in 2018. We signed a contract to fight in 2022. It will be cool if we are lucky on the third try. There is even a plan for a possible fight in Greece. Because of the war, there are many Ukrainians there. I have a huge name in Greece," said Kambosos.
Kambosos is currently preparing for his July 22 fight against Hughes. Meanwhile, Lomachenko, the Ukrainian boxer, had previously declined an encounter with Kambosos, opting to stay in Ukraine. Nonetheless, Kambosos is open to revisiting negotiations with Lomachenko to solidify this much-anticipated boxing clash.
