Former world middleweight champion and current president of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennadiy Golovkin, shared his thoughts during a visit to the World Boxing Championships.
“This was very good, everything was very intense, every fight was very close. I am very excited. Everyone is happy. Not only me, but the entire team. Everyone is happy. Boxing fans are satisfied because this is a true celebration for them.
Return to boxing? Yes, why not? I felt my old emotions again here. When could this happen? That’s my secret,” said Golovkin.
Gennadiy Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) last stepped into the ring in September 2022 against Saul Alvarez, losing by unanimous decision.
