Paul Green, the legal representative of American boxer Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs), stated that they now hope to negotiate a suspension of "four months or less" for Ryan's positive doping tests.
This comes after it was revealed that two supplements listed by Garcia in his VADA doping control forms were contaminated with Ostarine.
«We understand that Ryan will receive some sanction, but we believe that, given this evidence, it should be a light punishment,» said Green.
In April, Ryan defeated Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) by majority decision, marking Devin's first professional loss. Haney's team is demanding the result be overturned due to Garcia's positive doping tests.
