Garcia: "Victor Conte is a Piece of Trash"

American junior welterweight (up to 63.5 kg) Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) criticized VADA and USADA consultant Victor Conte, believing there's a conspiracy.

"This is bulls**t. It's a scam. We all know Victor Conte is a piece of trash. He works with VADA and suddenly my test comes back positive. How? For months and months, it didn't give a positive result, and then on the last day, right before the fight, it turns out positive? I don't even know how that's possible.

I've already requested sample B. I have professionals checking all my supplements to see if they've been contaminated. We'll figure it all out. I really don't care, because there's nothing to prove to myself. The one thing I know is Victor Conte is a piece of trash.

How can we trust someone who tarnished his reputation in baseball and then comes to our sport and designs a test that gave me a positive result? You're still doubting it's an inside job? I'll prove it," said Garcia.

On May 2nd, it was revealed that Ryan Garcia failed a drug test taken before his fight against WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs). The fight took place on the night of April 21st, where Garcia defeated Haney. Despite the loss, Devin remains the WBC champion as Ryan didn't make weight and didn't contend for the title.
