Ryan's Weight Against Haney Was Floyd's Advice

American boxer Ryan Garcia revealed that it was former world champion Floyd Mayweather who advised him to be heavier at the final weigh-in before his fight against WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney.

"Floyd told me to come in with an advantage of more than 1.4 kg. He told me to trash Bill Haney," Garcia wrote.

Ryan did not make weight before the fight against Haney, so he was not eligible for the title. However, he became the first to defeat Devin – winning by decision and knocking his opponent down three times.

Additionally, during the pre-fight promo, Ryan released a sparring session recording between Haney and Gervonta Davis. According to Garcia, he received this recording from Floyd.
