Ryan Garcia has made it clear to his team that he wants to work out a deal with Devin Haney, the reigning WBC champion. He's eager to get in the ring with him and has taken the first step:
"I've told my team to reach out to Haney's camp and start discussions for a fight between us. The ball is in your court now, Devin. I've shown I'm ready for this, and it's time to make it happen," Garcia declared.
In response, Haney succinctly remarked, "Those are the facts."
On December 10, Devin Haney secured the WBC welterweight championship by defeating Regis Prograis in a closely contested match decided by the judges. Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia ventured outside the lightweight division on December 2, knocking out Oscar Duarte in the interim category. Looking ahead, Garcia aims to compete in Haney's weight class for what promises to be an exciting bout.
