Garcia: "I Am the Face of Boxing"

In an interview with the YouTube channel DAZN, American super lightweight contender (up to 63.5 kg) Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) stated that he is in the prime of his career and has a significant impact on modern boxing.

"The time has come, I feel like I'm entering my prime. Deep down, I feel that I am the face of boxing. I say this because of my potential and how I can make something more achievable. People talk not just about my boxing – they talk about my life. If I do something wrong, and they capture it on video – for some reason, I go viral. So, I think, now I am that guy. I have reached places that Canelo can't reach, and I am where other boxers can't be, only I can. I am a marketing machine, and I have the desire to be the best in everything I do. Will the fight against Haney cement me as a world champion? Yes. Do I need it? Yes. Am I going to do it? Yes. It's only a bonus, but it also means that he is the face of boxing," said Garcia.

The fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will take place on April 20th in New York, USA.
