American super lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) boxer Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) shared his thoughts on his boxing career, emphasizing his drive comes from a sense of purpose rather than necessity.
"I don’t even need to box. I box because I love it, and I’m good at it. But I don’t need to box. If I retired today, I’d live a luxurious life to the end.
I just want to do what God wants me to do, to fulfill His will. That’s the only legacy I need to leave behind, and if I can do that, my name will speak for itself," said Garcia.
It's noted that Ryan failed to make weight for his category and will not be eligible to claim the title even if he defeats Devin Haney.
The fight is scheduled for the night of April 21st in New York. Previously, we covered where you can watch the match.
