American boxer Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) recently opened up about a potential rematch with Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs). Garcia's condition for the rematch is clear:
"I want it at the right weight. He knows I wasn't fully myself last time, and I'm not listening to anyone who says otherwise. That wasn't my true fighting style. I'm way better than that. I'm superior to Gervonta, and now it's just about proving it. If it means I have to take on Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney to get there, that's what I'll do," - stated Garcia.
The duo's initial match happened in April 2023, in the interim weight category—up to 61.7 kg. Davis clinched the win with a knockout in the 7th round. The fight agreement included a rehydration clause, limiting the boxers to a maximum of 66.2 kg post the official weigh-in.
Garcia's upcoming fight against Oscar Duarte is scheduled for December 2.
