British boxer Tyson Fury, WBC heavyweight champion, has issued an ultimatum to his potential opponent, Anthony Joshua.
Representatives of the two fighters have been negotiating for three weeks to organize a fight for the championship belt. Sky Sports quotes Fury:
"We'll know by Monday [whether the Superfight happens] anyway, because if there's no deal by Monday, I'll move on.
I was optimistic about three weeks ago, but signing a contract shouldn't take that long.
I won't wait for some guy who has lost three of his last five fights. He is lucky that I give him the chance to win the world title. Otherwise, he will have to wait a long time to get another one.
I don't mind throwing him a bone. But I don't want him to start dictating terms to me. He's an invited guest at my party. My rules. If you want to play, come to the banquet and sit down. If not, go to your banquet.
Sign a contract. I'll smash your face.
We offered Usyk a December 17 date in Saudi Arabia to fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title.
Everyone wanted this day, and Usyk said that he was injured and would not be able to compete until next year. And now he says I'm afraid of him!
I will punch him in the face with this fist.
I'm trying to find an opponent on December 3rd and if AJ fights I'll eat hay with donkeys and if not I'll fight someone else.
They all run in fear. I will fight anyone, anytime, anywhere."
