On May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, WBC heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) will meet for the undisputed heavyweight world championship.
The head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Al-Sheikh, announced that the rematch already has a date. Regardless of the outcome of the May 18 fight, the next bout is scheduled for October 12-13.
Turki explained that they plan to open the season in Riyadh this way. It was initially expected that David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) would meet the winner of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol in October, but the fight was canceled due to Beterbiev's injury.
