Fury: "He Could Bring Back Lewis, Make Usyk vs. Klitschko Happen"

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) shared how he met Saudi boxing tournament organizer Turki Al Al-Sheikh and spoke of his impact in boxing.

"I first met Turki last year. We initially spoke on the phone, and then we met in a hotel room in London. He's a very down-to-earth, pleasant guy. A huge boxing fan. And having someone influential with such capabilities and power in boxing is amazing. The government is bringing its boxing to the world stage. It's fantastic.

I've said many times, if Turki hadn't reached out to me, I'd be retired right now. I didn't know why I should continue with this. I definitely wouldn't have been holding such big press conferences in Morecambe.

Turki and I have a good working relationship, and on a personal level too. He occasionally asks how I'm feeling, and I do the same with him. It's good.

I was the first to open the door for boxing in Saudi Arabia. And Turki, who is so clear in his intentions - it's absolutely fantastic, brilliant. Obviously, he's a huge boxing fan. He gives boxing fans the fights they want to see. He has the ability to organize these fights with the snap of a finger. That's why they happen.

We've seen how hard it has been to organize some fights over the years. But now Turki is paying, so he could even organize a fight between Mike Tyson and Isaac Lowe. He could even bring Lennox Lewis out of retirement for a rematch with Vitali Klitschko. Or even Klitschko vs. Usyk. Any fight, really.

Turki has a vision for boxing. Big changes are happening right now," said Tyson.

Al Al-Sheikh is organizing Fury's fight against Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) in Saudi Arabia on May 18. All the prestigious heavyweight belts will be on the line.
