Former world champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) shared his thoughts on his upcoming bout with WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).
The Brit insists that in the first fight, he was too cautious, but in the rematch, he’s coming for a knockout.
“All my life, I’ve been the bad guy. And even now, when I’m almost 40, I’m still the bad guy. I’ve got a few years before 40, but I like saying it.
But I’ll enter the ring in destruction mode. Last time, I decided to box carefully with him. I busted his head, let’s speak facts. In the heavyweight division, as we’ve seen many times, anyone can get caught with a punch. But this time, I’m not going in to win on points. I’m going to knock that bastard out,” said Tyson.
In May, Tyson Fury failed to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years (over 90.7 kg), losing to Oleksandr Usyk by split decision. The rematch is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
