Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn believes that former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) should not return to the ring until the end of the year.
"My advice to Anthony Joshua is to do nothing until the Usyk-Fury rematch on December 21.
If Tyson Fury loses that fight, we can organize a huge bout between him and Anthony Joshua. If Fury wins, we can set up a voluntary title defense against Joshua for the unified heavyweight championship. It’s still the biggest fight in the division.
AJ will want a rematch with Daniel Dubois because he believes he can beat him. In my opinion, we should wait for the result of the Fury fight," said Hearn.
The rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In their first fight, the Ukrainian won by split decision, becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion.
As a reminder, on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, Daniel Dubois stopped Anthony Joshua, scoring knockdowns in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds. After the final knockdown, Joshua couldn't beat the count. KO in the 5th.
