Fury Analyzes Joshua's Loss to Usyk in the Rematch

In an interview with BoxNation, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) shared his thoughts on the rematch between Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).

"I recently watched Joshua's second fight with Usyk again. AJ is the good old sturdy guy. He has a decent base but is a slow methodical guy with his hands up by his face.

He moves forward, but you can hold him off with a jab. And he stretched him the whole distance. The second fight was very close. When I watched the fight after a few cocktails, I didn't think it was that close.

But when I got the fight with Usyk, I watched it several times. Actually, it was very close. AJ let it all go in the last rounds. He lost that fight from the 10th round, and he was only two rounds down," said Fury.

Oleksandr Usyk has met Anthony Joshua twice. In September 2021, Oleksandr won by unanimous decision, and during the rematch in August 2022 – by split decision.

The bout for the undisputed heavyweight title between Fury and Usyk is scheduled for May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
