In an interview with the YouTube channel The Stomping Ground, WBC heavyweight champion (over 90,7 kg) Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) spoke about his recovery from a cut that led to the postponement of the bout with the holder of the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).
"The cut has already healed. Actually, a cut takes about eight weeks to heal. I had 15 weeks from the cut to the fight day.
So we had plenty of time, I'm not worried about the cut. If it reopens during the fight – then to hell with it. I've had many cuts. It's a fight," Fury said.
The fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk was rescheduled from February 17th to May 18th due to the British boxer's cut, which he received during sparring. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
