Fury Confident There Will Be a Trilogy with Usyk

Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) expressed his desire to have a trilogy with two-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).

I’ve spent 20 years searching the world for someone who could give me a worthy challenge, and now we’ve found that guy. I’m ready for the fight, can’t wait anymore. For the first time in years, I’ll be fighting as a challenger, not the champion.

I think I always perform better as the challenger because there’s a goal again—something to strive for, like a fire under your feet. I really want to do this. I believe this fight will be one of the great trilogies between me and Usyk, like Jack Dempsey vs Gene Tunney.

Those were great fights, and I’m sure that when I beat him again, there will definitely be a trilogy. 100%, we’ll each have one win, and then the third fight,” Fury said.

In May, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years (over 90.7 kg). The rematch is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
