Fury Believes Dubois Hits Harder Than Joshua

Founder of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs).

"I think Dubois is a more powerful puncher than AJ. I really do. He's younger (26 years old – ed.), while Joshua is 34.

Most heavyweights don’t hit their prime until they’re 30, but this young man has really done well. He’s learned the hard way—he’s had a few setbacks in his career but has shown a lot of courage when taking, in my opinion, very harsh criticism from some people in the business.

Dubois suffered a horrible injury in the fight against Joe Joyce. But he came back and, in his last two fights, showed what he is capable of. He had to grit his teeth and show a lot of passion and determination to face two undefeated fighters and stop them," Warren said on talkSPORT Breakfast.

Dubois' promoter also mentioned that Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) is confident in Daniel's victory.

"I spoke to him this morning... He said the same as me about Daniel's chances. He thinks Daniel will do the job, so there will be a unification fight next year," Warren told Sky Sports.

The fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will take place on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK. The winner of the fight is likely to face the victor of the rematch between Tyson Fury and WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

On the eve of the fight, promoter of Anthony Joshua and head of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, reported excellent ticket sales for the Joshua-Dubois bout at the start of sales.
