Fury Acknowledges Usyk's Win in First Bout—Then Changes His Mind

On October 23 in London, UK, the first press conference was held for the rematch between WBC, WBO, WBA, and The Ring heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Initially, Tyson acknowledged that Oleksandr won the first fight but soon changed his stance.

"It’s been about 4.5 years since my second battle against Wilder, and the last time I was the underdog in those fights. What am I thinking? I’m just looking forward to a fantastic fight. The one in May was fantastic. Oleksandr won the fight fairly and squarely.

I just want to put on a wonderful showdown again. Last time it was very close; I won by a one-point margin. A bit more focus, a little less complacency, and I need to do what I have to do. Nothing radically should change—just a bit more of the same, a bit more focus, as I say, and I will win," Fury stated.

The rematch between Usyk and Fury is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
